River Cabaan. Tillamook, OR.

Have you ever felt like you have stumbled upon a secret spot and considered yourself lucky to experience it? I’ve had my eye on the beautiful River Cabaan since they became a rentable airbnb and it was one of the only places I knew I wanted to stay at when we finally made our way back out to Oregon. The stars aligned and we were able to rest our heads on our travels through the Oregon Coast for a few nights here. Kari was so wonderful to work with, and that little place on the river made our trip even more memorable. We normally make our way up to the Catskills for our anniversary, but this year I was ready to get back on a plane after almost 2 years of staying put. It felt incredible being there, listening to the soft rain and the gentle sounds of the river, shucking local oysters and making a fireside breakfast. Shawn even polar plunged himself in that icy water and it still was relaxing. We drank insanely good natural Oregon wines while jamming out to a record collection that even puts ours to shame. We may have even danced. We may have even read books. We may have even had long conversations that were uninterrupted. We may have fallen asleep by 9 each night. (!!)

The natural light and open layout was welcoming and bright, but still felt 100 percent secluded. If only I could put into words what a peaceful stay we had, but instead, here are some pretty scans by my homies over at Photovision Prints (whom I hand delivered these rolls to, epic to say the least.)

I love the PNW, it’s moody weather and all.
